| well tht was by using the registry. now i'd to format my system and then i installed SP2. well to say one thing SP2 din allow me to change registry tht seems to be security stuff. so i tried this. Ther r two ways to do this without using the registry and both o dem worked fine for me 'm not responsible if somethin goes wrong in ur sys please b careful in handling drives and better have some software at hand, one tht can get u data frm worn out and encrypted drives(for adverse conditions tht mite occur wen u modify files tht u don knw bout Wink ) or even bettr make sure restore point is turned ON! method 1 If you have one hd you need to create a new disk partition to hide your files on. If you don't know how, google it! methos 2 If you have two hd's and u want to use one just for your hidden files no problem. the process i hv told is for windows 2000 n XP which most people have anyway and only on which i hv tried my pranks Evil 1. Load up the disk management tool Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System tools If it isnt there goto ur Microsoft management console in Control Panel -> Admin tools 2. Selct your partition or volume you want to hide 3. Right Click and Select Change Drive Letters / Paths 4. Click Remove and the jobs done !!! You're files etc are still there but the partition / volume doesn't have an assigned drive letter so the system ignores it apart from in the disk management console. To access it just follow steps 1 to 3 and for step 4 just click add and select a drive letter. Have Fun! |
