I recently reinstalled windows xp because of a virus. I have since reinstalled the drivers, which are the correct ones that I have installed before. Under device manager<sound, games, and video control; it shows that it is enabled and working properly. I check the volume settings they are on. I went through my computers troubleshoot, and that was no help... I just can't think of what I am forgetting to do. This is the second time I have reinstalled my OS, and last time was a success. However it's been a long time, and I can't remember everything I did. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Uninstall and reinstall. That may help them pickup again.

and search for its sound drivers.

amoeba hit the head of the nail with the hammer all you need is your sound drivers installed.

Reinstall your drivers. Use Device Manager for this.
