| I'm using Vista Ultimate 64-Bit. I like the 64-bit because it can address more memory. The 64-Bit version runs and boots faster. Of course, 32-bit programs will not run faster with Vista 64. Ultimate only has a few more features than home premium and is not worth the extra money. I've only been able to find a few 64-bit programs to run on it but there will be more in the future. (I've found Maya 8.5, Solidworks, Autocad 2008) 64-Bit printer drivers are scarce. Most 32-bit progs run fine on Vista 64. The few that don't will usually warn you before installing. Vista in general is a pain at first until you learn how to tweak the settings. You should enable the administrator account and from then on, log in as administrator. That will fix the annoying UAC nags. Vista seems to be more stable than XP. I get the "this program has quit responding" error a lot less frequently than with XP. I'm one of those weirdo's who prefer Vista to XP. I think most people are like lemmings and because a few people at first said "I hate Vista" they also hate it without taking the time to learn it/ tweak it. |

| I never siad I was almighty. Also have you actually used Vista? Vista is the best OS that is out there right now. I was just wondering what people thought about the Ultimate version to see if it was woth upgrading to.

I don't really see what the diffrence between the diffrent verasions of Vista.. Any extra things that the Ultimate version has, you can just download freeware versions of them.. like the side bar etc. Jam

Mine is 64 bit Home Premium. I don't use the sidebar but the 64 bit runs great and is stable. My flight sim has better frame rates than it did in XP. There is also an XP mode you can run in if your program does not want to work properly (right click on the icon, Properties, compatibility and select run in xp sp2 mode). You also get direct x 10 and eventually we will have a lot of software using it.
