Upcoming Windows 7

Just thought I'd have a look into the Windows 7 or 'Vienna' as many people are calling it.

Windows 7 M1 (Milestone 1) Has already been leaked out onto the internet. To install it you need Vista SP1 to install 7 M1...

Anywhoo...

Not much has been said about what the new features are going to be or anything, but the few little things that have been said are:

hmm.. sounds good, but what hapens if you have a lot of work and fonts etc. Won't it take a long while to download before you can use this?

Has anyone had a look at that firefox plug-in called piclense? (sp?)
Would be great if they had that touch screen, and for the new IE...

Sounds good , but could this data be true? who knows

i personally have vista on my main rig ( sig ) , and if i can upgrade to 7 after a few months of it being out , i will , if i cant do it for a reasonable price... i wont ... i like vista

Nifty signature reader there... i need to check that out

hmm... well the quotes I've used are from number of interviews and stuff.. but I guess it could easily change y the time it comes out...

And you get on well with Vista??

when i first installed vista onto my custom desktop which was running XP , all the drivers i needed where in the windows update file

Most of mine were.. then the next lot of updates I had messed up my sound driver...

Hopefully Windows 7 will be better though...

There is a lot of information on the net at the momment about windows 7, (Vienna was the code name) From my understanding they are working on the inside of the operating system i.e. the bones, and the version that apparently has been leaked looks exactly like windows vista. This is because Microsoft have decided to work on everything else and leave the interface design to much later down the line this time. Apparently it will look much different to vista but at the momment its being worked on with a vista interface. But there are a lot of fakes out the claiming to be windows 7. some of them are just blatently windows vista with windows blinds effects and then photoshopped. The information I have given is to the best of my understanding of the situation but then again i may be wrong. I think really its far to early to be even thinking about windows 7.

Yeahh... I know there is a lot of fakes ones out on the net... And apparently they are using a new Kernel, MinWin I think its called, so your right, they are working on the insides first...

Does anyone know when it should be hitting the market? I know its not for a few years yet though...

well if you beleive the ridiculous rumours its supposed to be released in 2009 which is laughable. i would imagine sometime in 2010 would be more realistic, and as its microsoft its bound to be delayed many times aswell

Well, I still have yet to see one download of the Windows 7 leak, so it isn't leaked onto the internet yet. Though one of my forum members has access to the Windows 7 full beta (which is around 7GB). Some people say 2009, but Microsoft says 2011, so perhaps in 2009, Windows 6.1 (Vista R2) will come out, and Windows 7, in 2011...

Okay.. Its had a few problems..
And all the clicks to do a simple file change..
But, its okay!! I Suppose..
Nothing i cant handle!

Sad Day... MS has won one. Will we all Bleet like sheep.

Don't take it too hard, Leethomas787, it ws mostly a joke.

Still, it is NOT okay, You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything. It is like this in most things.. Like cooking a frog in a pot.. put it in alive, into hot water, it will jump out.. but slowly turn up the temp under it, and it will cook without a complaint.

Don't be a frog.. Don't let little things add up with what you put up with.. or else they can come up, beat you black and blue, tell you you liked it, and charge you for the privilege of the beating.
