Ok, for a long time now I haven't figured out the cause or how to change the way I logon to windows XP. It started as the default, you know, xp style. But once when i turned on my computer it did an old style logon, with the classic square with "username" and "password" underneath that. The annoying part about it is that even without a password, u still have to press OK to logon, so I can't turn on my comp without waiting infront of it. I now finally figured out how to change the way I logon, which is controlpanel -> user accounts -> change the way users logon, but when i click this, it tells me that a "recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast user switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the program. The following program may help you identify the program that made the change: GTGina.dll" Ok. Too bad i tried opening the GTGina.dll but it's something in system32, and isn't a file i can open with the programs i have. I definetely don't think it will help, just something part of that program that made it detect that. I also REALLY wouldn't mind doing system restore, but I heard it harms your computer. I don't know if it's actually system restore, the thing that makes you restore your comp to the first day you activated (bought) it. My comp is growing very slow now, 6800 geforce nvidia, 1gig ram, over 3.0 processor, and it's starting to even have laggy moments in warcraft 3! Compared to when i bought it, where i could run WoW in full settings, minimize without even a second's delay, while i was in the middle of about 100 raiders. please help!!

alright gonna try that, would still like to know if system restore will harm my computer though, i need to do that. Edit: Oh yeah i tried deleting GTGina.dll before, it says it cannot delete because it is currently in use or full right protected.

| Did you try deleting the registry entry or just try to delete the .dll from the system folder? Doing a system restore is not the way to solve a problem with your computer getting slow. Have a look in Add/Remove programs in Control Panel and delete any you don't use. Make sure you empty your Temp files and Temporary Internet files. Do a full system scan with your anti virus programs. Make sure you have all the latest Updates for XP. Check to see if your drive needs to be defragged. Crap Cleaner is a great program for keeping your system clean: Crap Cleaner Unlocker is a good program to get around the issue of being unable to delete something because it is in use: UNLOCKER 1.8.5 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB

All i tried to do is right click -> delete file. Gonna try your stuff now, but I have to say thanks so much for all that help!\ Edit: Oh btw, from the windows help link you gave me before, It said to delete GinaDll to resolve the problem, and the directory was a little different. I ran a search and found about 4-5 Gina's, like GTGina.dll and something like WHGina.dll or some other stuff of that sort. I don't want to delete the wrong file, any ideas?

Please help, it says to delete Gina.dll file but there is no exact file, but others like WHGina.dll and GTGina.dll. When I try to open the menu that lets me change the way I login, it says, "recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast user switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the program. The following program may help you identify the program that made the change: GTGina.dll," should I delete Gina dl or was that programmed to deceive me?
