Exclamation Downgrading OS

My friend is using windows vista on a dell dimension desktop. He says that Vista S. He wants to downgrade to xp. he has taken my xp home cd provided by dell n i want it back ASAP. How to downgrade

Get the CD off your friend - he is not allowed to use it, lending it to him is illegal and it is not likley that it will work on any other computer.
Tell him to purchase a copy of Windows XP. The instructions for installing it over Vista will be in the box.

I had the same problem downgrading to XP with a dell disk. Still haven't figured it all the way out yet, but making steady progress.

Just format the Primary drive used by Vista and install the new OS(XP).

Make sure you have XP before you format that hd!!!!!!

Before attempting to install XP on it, make sure you can get all the drivers required for your Dell.
And as Ash said he needs to get his XP, not to mention if yours is a different model, it could cause him more problems.
Check the Dell site for XP drivers, if not you may have to try the component maufacturers.
