Default single user logon..??

hey, me again...

i recently went over to my friends house, play some games... (computer)...

i was watching the computer, and i noticed that when he turned the computer on, it went through the normal quick bios stuff, then it went into the windows loading screen... BUT, then, instead of proceeding to the log on screen/user select screen, it loaded straight onto his user profile...???

my question is, HOW???

p.s. a few things: his is a new (but pretty c***) XP home running system, and he only has one log on profile (his; actually, i don't even know if he has a profile...)...

any more info needed, just reply... thanks again

Tweak User Interface, A free utility it's very good. It started out with some guys at MS who gave a nice way to customize the UI some, as a very UNOFFICIAL software.... but grew into a well supported add on/freeware that MS condones.

It has an autologin feature. TweakUI for XP will do that and MUCH MUCH more!!

There is another way [as my bank says in it's ads] that you could try, but I am not sure if it works on Home Edition].
Click Start > Run, and enter control userpasswords2 in the box [with a space between control and userpasswords, but not between userpasswords and 2] and hit enter. Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" and click Apply. A box will appear asking for your user details. Enter your Windows username and password and click OK and OK once again in the User Accounts box. Then your PC should automatically log you in at startup.

Under control panel, there is 'user accounts'. Here, you can set it up however you wish.
