| Windows It's the most common one, but is it the best? From Windows 1.0 to Vista, as well as the up and coming Windows Vienna, talk about what 9 out of 10 computers has. |

| By the looks of things, these are related to Windows Updates. Unless you are running out of diskspace, I would leave them intact. I doubt that they are signs of virus activity [which you shouldn't be worried about if you are running Avast]

| I'm willing to guess, that if you looked you will see that windows update may have left a 1kb file in them (text). I've seen W.U. do about as good a job of cleaning up after itself as windows does removing temp files. I typically delete the files to no ill effect. But as Ash stated, they are fine to leave be should you have plenty of space. |

| thanks, i may have to start deleting them soon, i only have 30GB left of a 160GB HDD...

| If you're running out of space, give CCleaner a try: CCleaner - Home

| thanks man... you are all very helpful ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ problem solved on one hdd... BUT SOME MORE GREAT NEWS!!!: i was (don't know why i never tried this before?!?!) on admin tools, found storage, and computer management... and i found a second HDD... when i first made my computer, i had installed 2 160GB drives. when installing XP, i got confused, and only made 1 partition, and didn't put raid on... i didn't know what partitions where... i thought i had put raid on, but the wrong one (raid 0), as it said i only had 1 HDD, and that it was local disk, on 160GB??? i couldn't be bothered to work it out, so left it. later, i began to run out of space, and i found computer management. it showed the 2 HDD!!! but it said one was unassigned, so i thought i would try and partition it... i did so, and now i have one partition for:OS, other stuff; one 50GB one for games; and one 100GB one for other space.... nice, and now i don't have to buy a new HDD!! thanks
