Default hard drive partitioning....

i downloaded partition magic...the full version

i partitioned my hard drive

the total size is 111gb and i partitioned it so that one partition would be 101gb and the other is 10gb in case my computer would crash and i would have to reinstall windows. my computer seems to be running slower than normal since i partitioned it. the 10gb partition is for music and download installers (bigger sized files). i thought this would make my computer run faster because they are not on the same partition as the OS. does having a second partition slow down my comptuer???

i have a Pentium 4 CPU 1.80 ghz 768 mb of ram

Windows XP Professional SP 2
