| Hi again, another day, another vista problem. this time media centre, i got to say, its the Best ,most user friendly program i have used on a PC. Even my wife can use it! my JUST 8 y/o can play shows, skip 'adds' and find her movies! But 2 weeks ago a 'new' error started.... basically i narrowed it down to: when recording a show(HD seems worse) and 'timeshifting',that is watching it later, skipping adds and catching up,after some 10 to 20mins of viewing i get a MASSIVE FREEZE,im talking 1 second sound echo and picture freeze(still) and NOTHING WORKS,cont/alt/del, Only OFF button for 7 seconds... i asked computer shop guy, i did all the following ![]() *checked vista update, done all recomended(just a critical update) *removed some 125 gigs shows from C drive 403gig HDD to my backup 403gig HDD. *went to nvidia, and got it to update automatically my motherboard and graphics card(vista version was older, loaded 6 weeks ago!) *went to haigpagen twin HD TV site in australia, and updated driver. *Defraged C drive. *scanned for virus with AVG7.5. pc was a bit faster, picture actually looked a bit clearer(maybe just me),but still timeshifting error(only once though so far). i stoped all family from timeshifting Now. pain in the rear! anything i may of missed? AMD4400 2.3gig dual core 64. 2*403gigHDDsataII 256meg shared graphics Nvidia. 4*1 gig Corsair DDR2 ram matched pairs. Haigpagen dual HD TV tuner 500 series. PCI Lan Wireless. Microsoft MCE keyboard/remote wireless. Dvi to HDMI cord to LG 42" 106cm LCD TV 1220*720dpi. Last edited by tackster; 10-31-2007 at 11:26 AM. Reason: forgot stats. |
