Default Convert folder to a file

I have windows xp media center edition. I have photos saved in various folders. How do I make the folder a file so I can e-mail the whole folder instead of individual photos.

Thanks, Dave

Right-Click the folder (in My Computer/Windows explorer) and Chose SEND TO, when the fly-out menu appears, select COMPRESSED FOLDER (ZIP File). It will then compress and archive the files into one ZIP file.

Note: many email servers are set to block .ZIP files due to virus problems in the past. Typically you can rename it to .ZAP, and have the recipients rename it back to .ZIP.

I would suggest using .rar archives over .zip. I don't think .zip's can go multi-volume which mega comes in handy when you have to handle a large amount of data. Also, I read something, somewhere regarding another reason why .rar was better than .zip. I used .zip way back when in the days when ME was new shit, but now winrar = always.

I too use winRAR on the windows box. I typically back up all of my files to RAR on DVD, and I use the multi-part feature to span my DVD's. It's easier than calculating individual zip archife file sizes.
