 Start up is toooo slow ! I have some PCs take loooooooong time to startup, The OS is XP & I've deleted most of unnecessary start up programs, I cleaned & checked the disk but it still toooooo slow any solution ???       |

| It may be that they had a driver for one of the components but this has been removed during reformatting, so Windows may be defaulting to a generic, slow driver. But I suggest disabling Symantec and seeing how fast they boot up with it.

| Symantic slows down your system. Ever since I got rid of it and started using Avast! 4.7 Professional, my computer has been MUCH faster.

| hmm, I removed symantec & installed Avast, still the same problem, I don't think AV softwears are the reason of that problem, coz OS take long time to start up before welcome screen (around 25 sec from win start up log to welcome screen) ... |

| Have you looked for any relevant drivers? Also try booting in safe mode and seeing how long it takes. It will show you everything it loads up - note down any entries that take a while to load up.

| In that case try running the repair option on your Windows CD. As it says you are a network administrator in your profile, you should know what to do.

| Yeah, system restore is a nice feature. doesn't always work, and some things can kinda get screwy (programs installed around reference period). but all in all it might work. they're are viruses that Protection cant catch -Matt
