Windows It's the most common one, but is it the best? From Windows 1.0 to Vista, as well as the up and coming Windows Vienna, talk about what 9 out of 10 computers has.

Default system restore Question

Can anyone tell me if there is a problem with doing a system restore for a date that is quiet a long time ago... say 2 or 3 months.

can i undo a system restore with out any side affects or bugs? may say silly (im still learing about comps systems).

im trying to undo changes that i piece of software did to the computers audio configs, and as the comp wont tell me what the actulall problem is, only that i have one. i thought that erasing all traces of the program may help.

i've tried unistalling software through "control panel.... add / remove sofware" but it seems to take sofware off but leave the changes the sofware made in the first place to the computer.

any experts on system restore out there, or even keen amatures would be apreciated.

IS SYSTEM RESTORE THE ANSWER????

It depends on what you're talking about - Windows ME/XP/Vista's system restore and the system recovery solutions provided by computer manufacturers on either CDs or a hidden hard drive partition are not the same thing. If you are referring to XP's system restore, you should have no problems undoing the restore operation. Or you could create a restore point before running System Restore...
