I have vista currently

and i will say it does have a couple issues for me ( it restarts sometimes without warning , but that may be my power supply dying)

but it is a nice os , other than that

it has some nice new features that are helpful with user interface etc.

and yes it does need more power to run , as expected . XP is 6 years old. computers have advanced , so your 6 yr old pc will not run vista , is not vistas fault.

if you dont have the following , you cant run vista good

2gb ram

2Ghz dual core processor or faster

sata II hard drive with 100gb or more

DX 10 video card 8400GS or better , or 2600Xy or better

As for as a reply to running Vista "good"
For me its only part of the problem that Vista shuts down with/out warning, that it seems to have installed useing between 60-80 gb of hard drive space!!(2x150GB Raptors in RAID 0. With nothing else installed, brand spanking new I only have 228GB to start with(300gb-228=72GB used for formatting and Vista Ult 64x installed. I am very new to this, but that seems like a lot. My lap top with XPPro 32 installed on an 80gb harddrive still has 76GB left?!).
Ok for the other part. My OS is Vista Ult 64x which means I know am ready for the future. The only problem is that for the most part that future wont catch up to me for several years. Sony Acid Pro 6, NI Kompackt, Some Adobe(Master Collection CS3) etc, and so on only seem to work in limited ways. Some very much more limited then others. Even the big boys don't seem to have any plans to update drivers any time soon. Is this Micro Softs problem? Well yes. Have they priced the the structure of 64 so high that Sony refuses to purchace it? Why would these companies not upgrade the drivers of their top of the live products(Adobe is not a real problem..except flash?). Why would Microsoft care so little for their customers that instead of fixxing Vista they have decided to start with another OS(am I wrong or didn't they do this before? ME or something like that)...By the way my computer should be good enough to use Vista
Q6600(GO)
ASUS Maximus Formula X-38
8GB gskill ram 1000mhz
2x150Gb raptors RAID0
2x500GB HDD noRAID storage
8800GTS(G92)
the aboveOS
850watts PSU
Cosmos case with lots of extra fans(not that it needs them its not OCd, or runs hot. Not even close to hot)
28"Monitor
and a person who knows nothing about computer at its control

By the way, a little of topic, but if you read my topic and help me with it. I will send you nude photos of somebody(this is not a guarente(sp?), promise or even true, but I really need the help, and as of yet no one has.)
