I voted No.

As Ultra_Man said, it's bound to be bug-filled.

Most of the bugs in Vista won't be discovered until it's more mainstream.

I probably won't upgrade to it until the first Service Pack is released, and even then it will only be through the purchase of a new computer, if I don't get a Mac instead.

My computer already has enough bugs without Vista, so there's no way I'm upgrading.

Not sure about other places but here in NZ a lot of new computers are coming bundled with Vista already installed. Guess the people who buy them will be spending a lot of time downloading fixes for the bugs! Actually, I do hope some people in here who are tech savvy will give it a try as we are sure to get a lot of people asking for help with it.

I would switch from Mac OS X to Vista, simply because I hate Mac... but on my PC... Nothing more than Media Center

Default Nope...

Not a chance until programs I need to use require me to run vista. I have no desire to pay for better hardware (fast CPU, large HD, 2+ GB ram) so the operating system can steal it all. From what I've seen, Vista provides no new functionality over XP Pro, and its claim of being more secure has yet to be tested. All I've noticed is that it annoyingly notifies you anytime a program wants to make changes to your user account/installs something. Don't really see how this is an improvement over XP with a user that is experienced and mindful of computer security. I will be saving my $200-$400 for now.

Besides, I like to know that I have at least 1-1.5GB of RAM free if I want to play a game like FEAR or BF2142--can't do that if you have Vista. What a waste.

Macs?! What is there to like about macs. Is it the over-priced computers, or the weird OS? I go with pc all the way. Way more upgradibility, and a lot of companies make pcs I can also build a pc from scratch and skip the middle-man completely.

I agree with jsmith70 completely. Especially because of my dream last night... it had all these malfunctions lol! Well, anyway, this is turning into a mac-hating topic and not an Upgrading to Vista topic. Back to topic, people.

There is always room on a thread for mac-hating. It shall spread through all places and take over compuforums. I might just make a thread for all the reasons to macs.

I've already upgraded to Vista. In fact, I went out and lined up (I was first in line, but whatever...) for the store to open the day Vista was released, and I bought it. I'd definitely say that it's a good investment... It's way better then XP, runs faster, looks better and is just overall cooler. :p

Why isn't there an option on the poll for "I already have Vista"? :p

Not me, the only beta I'll run on my pc will be free!

I ran the Window Vista Advisor and by the time I got done throwing another Gig in my hard drive and upgrading 7 programs, I found out that my printer and camera wouldn't work with Vista.

Lightbulb Not me.

I assure you that I will not any time soon be upgrading to Windows Vista. There are far too many alternatives on the market, and am extremely pleased with the performance of Windows XP Professional.
