 Free upgrade to Vista? Not sure whether or not is global promotion from Microsoft or just Malaysia. They promote that will giving away free upgrade to Windows Vista and my question is does this including OEM version (home eedition) which come with my dell computer?      |

| Dell are supporting the Microsoft Express upgrades, and it is a global promotion. However, according to the Microsoft site, you will need to be running XP Pro, Media Center, or Tablet Edition.

| Vista is bound to be much laggier than XP with all of those fancy effects, which is why I don't plan on getting it. [Microsoft will be supporting XP until at least 2009 anyway].

| Hi Ash, thanks for the link. Oh, I am not eligible for this program.  Not sure how much will be cost in order to upgrade to Vista and is that too heavy to run Vista in 512 ram. |

| I would not suggest running it with 512mb of ram - you really need 1 gig at least for it to run well. You can run Vista with 512mb of ram, but you can also run XP with 64 meg of ram or even just 32 - of course, very slowly.
