Question HTML or PHP?

hi all! I'm just starting to learn about webpage design and i was wondering what language i should learn first. I don't think webpage design is really what i'll be doing in the future but i figure leaning something like HTML or PHP would be helpful in any computer related job. so what i want to know is which would be best to learn first.

any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

As you say you dont wanna do web design, then I cant see how HTML can be very advantageous for you, but it can be used for a few other things. I would reccomend, however, that you do learn it because its a very easy language to learn as opposed to PHP which is a little harder. There is also a language called basic, but that may be a wee bit too basic hehe.

Well no matter what type of website you want to design, the first languages you want to learn is HTML & CSS.

After you got the hang of them, you can then go into PHP to improve your websites by adding dynamic content, databases etc.
