I downloaded it installed it tried it in explorer and it did nothing is there something else i have to do?

What is it that you are trying to do? Are you trying to view .php files on your own computer? It would be helpful if you could provide a bit more detail regarding what problem you are having exactly.

I thought it would be like javascript just type in some code between html tags save as html document then view but its not is it...
anyway forget php what lang would be best for games?

well that is the vaguest question ever but theres alot of what you need to do before you can just get php to "WORK" so to speak. and ya what is it that you are trying to do. cant help unless we have details on the problem. and most likely the best language for games would indeed be java but there are many others just as good or even better for games. and besides unless you know exactly how to write th lanuage or even how to code it right... nothing will work and your images will either look like p00p or there wont even be pics or flash. you cant wake up one day and say " i think im gonna make a make a game on the net with nothing but my bare hands" wont be able to. not unless your Ash ofcourse lol

actually people can say anything they want thats why they make claims and then fall short on them. anyway care to be more specific about those languages >= java.

You will need to install some background software for PHP to work on your server. But first some NEEDED questions

Can you tell us the OS of your web server?
Which web server are you using?
What version of PHP are you planning on installing?
Then, it's up to the PHP code monkies to help with the actual implementation within the web pages themselves.

These are VITAL to get the correct help.

I guess that is what i am missing as well is that background software.
