Default What do you think of this host?

It's cheap. It gives me a free domain, and has great features

Here are some features:

Web Hosting by Host Monster

What do you guys think, before I buy a 24 month plan?

I say don't buy a 24 month plan. It may be cheaper but you'll come to regret it when you realize that the host isn't as good as the reviews. I regret paying for 12 months at my current host, and no low price can compensate for poor service.

Great Webhosting. Shared starting at $2 per month. VPSes starting at $6 per month.

OK, thanks. The only reason I liked this so much was because it was $6.20 (AUD) a month, and as its under $6.99, it will only show up on my mum's banks statement under "miscellaneous purchases".

My mum is very strict on internet stuff, technically speaking, I'm not allowed on CompuForums....

Thanks again,

BP

Arrow Web Hosts

BP, I've used 50Webs.com services now for one year. I first started with the FREE plan > and after 6 months of service, I graduated to the paid plan.

I'm extremely satisfied with their service, have had very minor down time in the 12 months of service, guaranteed 1-hour support (the last support ticket I sent was replied to and resolved within 3 minutes), and lots of nice options (including PHP scripts) and unlimited file size transfers.

50Webs also offers a 30-day money back guarantee if you're not satisfied. I paid an annual $36 to start ($3.00 per month), and just recently upgraded to the $4.00 per month.

50Webs servers are located in the UK.

OK, thanks. After showing my mum hostmonster for me, she got really excited and bought an account for her site

So I'm still checking around. Free wbsite templates are also gonna be needed.

Arrow Website Templates

BP, what sort of site templates do you have in mind? CSS based?

There are several sites I recommend for templates that are XHTML with CSS based:

Download free CSS templates - Free CSS Templates

Free CSS Templates - CSSTemplates.net

Free XHTML/CSS Website Templates - Template World

Free CSS Templates & Wordpress Themes | CSS Design Templates

And if you don't like any of these, run a Google search for "FREE CSS TEMPLATES".

Hope this was helpful.

I already have an OK one. And the site is hosted and in development - so very little is done to it.

I'm gonna change the template just enough so I can remove the copyright....

Wow, they oversell big time.

I'd stay away from hosts that oversell. The features and plans look great, especially at such low prices, but it's impossible to sell that much storage space and bandwidth unless you were looking at VPS or dedicated servers.

At some point in time, the service will crash. I think it's too much of a risk, and you will probably face a lot of downtime.

On the other hand, I can recommend you a good host. I own a few servers with APlus Web Hosting and no problems. I could definitely recommend their shared hosting.

Well, I know they oversell on their bandwith, you do need a VPS aas you say. However, my mum has had an account with them for a while now, and she uses about 120GB of that storage on her email account (thats all she uses it for) - plus a website I started developing on Friday.

Thats why I know its a good host...

I use this host for my site.
I think it's pretty good. I use the 1 year plan, though.
I get 200GB, and other cool stuff like that... I can't remember all of it now...
