Default [SOLVED] Block IntelliTXT Ads

Updated: June 24, 2007 tcc
Added: Almico
Purpose: Blocks ContentLink In-Line Ads
______________________________________

This is a brief instruction on how to block IntelliTXT (and other) in-line ads from web pages.

The in-line ad links are shown in web pages with a double-underline hyperlink. Yes, they are those annoying ads that pop-up when your mouse curser scrolls across one. (I hate them and block websites that use them).

An In-Line text ad looks like this

As a responsible web site owner who cares about my site guests, I would never consider having these annoying scripts installed on my pages. The ads will generate only a very small income (usually under 10%) for the site owner -- however, the site will lose more returning visitors than it will generate ... and this little bit of chump-change is not worth the loss of returning visitors. Thus, in-line advertisements cause more of an income loss than it will generate.

1. FireFox
A script called Uh Oh IntelliTXT (intelliTXT Link Ad Remover) can used to block IntelliTXT popups for Firefox users. IntelliTXT can also be deactivated with the Adblock plus Firefox extension by using the string(s) in your filter list.

Code:
*Intellitxt*
*Kontera*
*Adbrite*
*Ontok*
*LinkWorth*
*Almico*

2. Opera
To block IntelliTXT popups in Opera browser simply add the following url's into Tools > Advanced > Blocked Content. (This works perfectly)

Code:
http://*.*.intellitxt.com/*
http://*.*.kontera.com/*
http://*.*.adbrite.com/*
http://*.*.ontok.com/*
http://*.*.almico.com/*
http://*.*.linkworth.com/*

3. Internet Explorer 7
To block IntelliTXT popups in Internet Explorer 7 simply download and install IE7pro (IE7Pro) and add the following strings to your Ad Filter list under the Block list.

Code:
*intellitxt*
*kontera*
*adbrite*
*ontok*
*linkWorth*
*almico*

Competitors of IntelliTXT in the in-text advertising space include Kontera, Adbrite, Almico, Ontok and LinkWorth. BAN THEM FROM YOUR WEB BROWSER SITES.
