| Hello all, great forum, nice to meet you all. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I looking for help regarding putting a link on my website. I am looking to sell something on Ebay, and would like a sample of my work via a link on Ebay back to my web site, but are unsure how to do this, as it would be a media link like a sound file that would appear. I do not have any link on my own site at the moment for this sample of my work, but was wondering if anyone could help, in telling me how I go about putting this on my website, or anywhere else a downloadable link would work via ebay. Hope that all made sense. Thanks in advance Russell |

| Hi russfall, Firstly welcome to CompuForums, I hope that you can stick around and post here rather than vanish, never to return once we've given you our advice. Firstly, can you let us know what the file extension of the content you are linking to is? Also - do you want to make a link so a potential buyer can click and download it, or play it inside the eBay listing page?

| Hello, and many thanks for getting back to me. I have put CompuForums in my favourites..so wont go nowhere!!. Forgive me for not explaining in full as I am not too pc literate, you mention the file extension, I will be needing a link that will open a media player, that has my samples on it. I notice from other sellers etc, that their links always go back to their website, to which open a media player/download. My website does not have this, as are unsure how it all works, but as you say a buyer would click/download it onto their pc Does that explain it properly? Sorry in advance Russell E-mail removed to prevent spam being sent to poster Hi russfall, Firstly welcome to CompuForums, I hope that you can stick around and post here rather than vanish, never to return once we've given you our advice. | I've removed your e-mail addresses as posting them on a public forum will increase the amount of spam e-mails you get. It's very easy to set this up - do you know HTML at all? Also - do you have your samples on your computer yet? The file extention is the bit after the file's name - .wma, .mp3 and .wav are all examples. Which one do/will the samples have?

| It would be best if you could upload the MP3 samples you want to feature in your auctions to: FileFreak.com - Free File Host - Free MP3 Host - Free Image Host Then, give us the URLs to where the MP3s are stored, and we'll write you some code to put into your auctions

| The code you'll want is: HTML Code: <a href="http://www.filefreak.com/pfiles/8602/SAMPLE.mp3">Click here for sample clips of my work</a> When adding or editing your eBay auction, when you get to the part of your document where you want to add the link, simply click the "HTML" tab at the top of the text box and paste in the code above. Then, click the Standard tab to switch it back to "Normal" view to continue editing. Let us know how it goes, and if you need anything else.

| No problem, we're here to help. I hope you can help us by staying here and posting, referring friends, and maybe even considering a premium membership. Yes, we'll be able to help you with getting your site transfered. FTP is very easy to use, once you've got the right details. Just post a new thread and we'll help you with it
