| I would reccommend you learn some basic html and php (W3Schools Online Web Tutorials) and use Pandela.com - FREE Web Hosting Services for hosting, this should get you a little website going, but dont expect miricles it isn't easy and it will take ages to learn how to make a decent website. Freewebs.com - Free website, free hosting, free webpage, online photo album, free blog, more! and Yahoo! GeoCities: Get a free web site with easy-to-use site building tools are good ways to make a website for beginners, but lack features like php for scripting forums etc, they also tend to be riddled with ads.

| As has been said, for your first site using a service like Geocities or Freewebs will make it easy for you, if you don't mind the ads [Freewebs tends to have less] However, it really is vital that you learn HTML. You might want to try out a program like Nvu which is free and lets you design pages just like typing a letter - and then you can edit the source code with a quick click and view the HTML. If you want a quick forum, there are plenty of free hosting sites like Invisionfree which allow you to quickly set up a forum. Again, you will get a few ads. And of course, we'd love it if you could put a link back to CompuForums on your site! Once you've learned all of these things then you can look into more professional solutions.

| yeah, i agree, if you are new to this whole website thing you should use a free ad supported webservice like geocities or freewebs. but I also think you need to progress to html etc at a later date to help your site grow. |

| Hey! There are some programs that would let you build your own website but if you have the time, it is worth it to learn how to program your own by learning HTML. There are some easy tutorials you could find online and the cool thing is you could do much more with this than with the softwares! p.s. I would let you see my websites but I forgot the url.... (I did this a long time ago!) |

| You can even see if your own provider gives you space. Most now days do. Learning basic html is a great and there is a lot of editors out there that you can try that will get you going. I remember cutting my skills with geocities which like most said ad driven now. But that's the cost of having it free. |

| Free web hosting providers can be found on this link here at CompuForums. I recommend WebNG for beginners. It has a WYSIWYG editor, and various other simple tools. WebNG was one of my first, and I still use it daily. Last edited by Tom; 05-06-2007 at 11:38 AM. |
