| Hey, I just want to inform everybody that I'm working on a brand new bulletin board software. The best feature I have come up with so far is that it will be in about six or more cgi languages (eventually!!): PERL, PHP, Python, C, Java, and ASP. Yes, I know there are other BBS's out there already written in the above languages. BUT, they are all written in one language! My goal is to have ONE BBS written in MANY languages. Also, some BBS's do not use an SQL database but a flat-file database(YaBB). Well, if you see a point/counter-point to this feel free to post it. Feature List:
If you think there should be more, just post it. Also, if you want to send me a code snippet, just PM it to me with and I'll add your username to my Acknowledgements section at the top of the Readme. I hope this will be out in a stable release by the end of the year. |

| Hey there and welcome to CompuForums! I hope you post here often and keep us up-to-date with your project. As a forum admin, some of the features I like to see in forum software are... -Ajax -Fast loading [clean code with no unnessesary bits] -Easy backup system [maybe with even the option to automaticly FTP to another server and delete old backups] -Easy to create great-looking custom skins -Easy modding system [have you ever tried the mod system in SMF? Something like that would be great] -Easy to convert from other software -Secure! Again, I hope that you come back often and keep us up-to-date on this project. I would like to try it out when it's released.

| Seems like a very ambitious project. Do you plan on this being a commercial forum or an open source project? If you plan for it to be commercial I would definitely keep the SQL queries to an absolute minimum to save on server loads. |

| Yeah, I agree with CompuForums, you should AJAX it up a bit

| Sorry for not keeping you updated. My computer crashed and quite a bit of my data went with it. I was able to recover a little but I lost my code. I hope this is OK and if anyone wants to help me by sending code to me, I will accept a PM but I prefer posting. Hopefully I can find a CVS repository somewhere I can use. I think I'll try sourceforge.net... |

| Try signing up to sourceforge, they are pretty much the best. Or you could contact OSOUSL. They are normally pretty decent and they already support the PHPBB project.

| Hey, sorry for the delay but I need some help. I just thought that this new software needs a name. As I am not a very creative person, I just think that it would be wise to ask the more creative people on this site. PS: The PHP installation utility is going great. As soon as I have a name, I will submit it to freshmeat.net so everyone can check it out with CVS. |
