Default Installs only to 98% and virus scan doesnt work??

So, for a while things have been a bit wierd. But to put it simply, ever time, and i mean EVERY time i do a virus scan with MacAfee it finds something. It should, little things pop up here and there. But for over a month, virus scan has found nothing, at all. On top of this, shutdown my computer, it tells me i have windows updates to install, but they dont seem to go away or even install maybe. Something related to this i have found is that everything i try to install doesnt finish. Well technically, i think it does, but it displays at 98% (maybe 99) and just sits there. So basically i will have to do control alt delete, but the program usually works after that. Any idea whats going on >.>?

You could try using Spybot or an online scanner like House Call if that brings up nothing. Some malwares prevent AV progs from functioning properly and may upset other things on your system.

If it's giving problems installing the updates, try turning off the virus scanner. Some virus scanners will lock Operating System files to prevent virus' from altering those files.

They also lock the registry in certain ways, preventing changes. This is why some programs need the virus scanner turned off before installing.

I've not had problems installing updates with a virus scanner running, but it's windows, and it's possible.
