If you can pay, I recommend Antivirus Software - Eliminate viruses with ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security as it's the best, doesn't slow down your PC, and Leo Laporte recommends it.

Yes if you can afford it then NOD32 is an excellent choice. Failing that use Avast Home Free.

Bullguard is AMAZING. If the virus/spyware can't be removed, it "Turns up the heat" (Resorts to more severe methods). If it can't remove it at all (Which is very rarely), you're put into a free live chat with their support who give you instructions on how to remove it. And with the online back-up and firewall that comes with it as standard, you can't go wrong.

They even have a gaming edition =P

We sell this in the shop I work at for only £30 a year. We save the Norton victims basically =P

Hi sweet142, what i would suggest you is AVG or AVAST, like what other users told you. If you're going to download AVG is better if you install the 7.5 version because the latest version, the 8.0 edition is having some problems in updating, and some users are finding the 7.5 much better at the moment. They are both good and free. Google them out and you'll find their links to download them.

Enjoy

Btw GhostXx you're right about this topic, it's becoming an old man now!! lol

I think AVG is the best security because it's doesn't eat up all the computer resources.Avg- It's free.

It also doesn't detect Trojans very well either. The best security is using Linux

If Linux was the dominant platform it would have plenty of issues.

I personally have made the switch to NOD32. It's got the best detection rates out there, and has great value for money. I paid £33 [$66] for one year of protection on two computers.

I knew they existed you just dont really hear about them like you do in windows, but Ash is right the more mainstream Linux gets the more viruses will be made for linux.
