I just wanted to generate VRDB in Avast and noticed that the icon has gone for VRDB. Ive looked through the help and it doesnt mention how to launch it if its been disabled. I cant find it anywhere. Please, anybody know whats going on?

Do you see the main Avast icon in your system tray or is it completely gone?

Hi Ash, Yes, the main avast icon with the 'a' is there, but the VRDB icon 'i' seems to have gone. The last time it was updated was 10/05/08 - I looked in toolbar properties and made sure that 'hide when inactive' was unchecked. I know you can merge the 2 icons but im sure nobody using this laptop would have done that.

Okay, give this a try:
Right click the Avast blue ball in your system tray Go to VRDB Select Split to two icons (Avast! and VRDB) [its at the bottom]

Its OK, I fixed it. I performed a 'repair' of the program Avast antivirus in Control Panel, rebooted it and the 'i' icon is there now.
Thanks for your help Ash - Ive got no idea why or how this happened. By the way, this seems a very useful link for avast problems; http://forum.avast.com/ |
