| Hey, Lately i have had something interupting my system. It makes the keys i push on my keyboard come up a few seconds after i actually push the key. I've tried running spybot and BitDefender on my PC but to no avail. It started happening about a month ago and a simple restart would usually fix it, but now it is impossible to stop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks |

| More info would be helpful. Have you tried to see if this happens when you are in safe mode? That would be one thing to check. Second, Can you get a screenshot of your Task Manager (processes tab) so we can see what all is running? If you don't have an add-on screen capture, get PrintKey 2000, it's free and works very well. PrintKey It would be nice to get a screen shot of the Processes list in Safe Mode too, to compare (IF the problem occurs in safe mode). It could be a hardware issue too, How old is your computer, keyboard...... Have you verified the cables are firmly connected (If it's a PS/2 kbd, do that with the computer turned off) Is it a wireless kbd? |

| It runs fine in safe mode, my keyboard came with computer, 12-18 months old. All connections are plugged in well. Here is the processes in task manager (1st one is normal, 2nd is safe mode) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...askmanager.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...2/tasksafe.jpg EDIT: upon trying to restart computer i am now getting an error message saying that windows cannot start due to a corrupted or missing file in the system32 folder. The file was called "ntoskml".sys im presuming |

All i changed was stopping msn and xfire running at start-up and it seems to have solved the problem. I have no idea how this happened. Thanks to you guys for replying and trying to help! | Great you got it sorted! I'm no expert at explaining things but ntoskrnl.exe is a boot process which completes loading of the registry, initialises device drivers and starts the Windows Login screen. I have no idea why msn and xfire would make any difference but I believe the fewer things you have running at start up the better!
