I'm just saying that many former AVG users have posted here to say Avast found a suprising amount of infections that AVG didn't see. It's always worth a try.

Got an Avira Classic for free AV and Zone Alarm for my firewall. Works good though zone alarm slows my pc.. But Avira is the real deal! its really good and does have a rootkit detection.. for trojans, i use trojan remover.

My dad has Avast on his laptop but I didnt like it, the scanning seemed to be really slow. As iff my CPU was running at 100% it was really weird

Avast is good and it is free, but I use one called Nod32 and it works great, and the best part is, it doesn't slow down the computer so much....

hahaha, yea i would agree Nod32 is good but you guys should defenetly check out Outpost, im tellin you, its mad good, its also another one that doesnt slow down the comp. when its scanning. i have AVG, Outpost, ZAP, and Nod32 and those are the best of all. but if you guys got more than one AV dont have them both or multiple on at the same time becuase it corrupts your registry!

Yes, to have more than one AV is madness, a friend had two running concurrently, it took a lot of sorting out, in the end, a little extreme I thought, he replaced his HDD, surely there was another way, or perhaps not?

ehh, im not sure, cuz once your program files go kaput is kinda hard to fix it cuz then everything is really Fxcked up. but to fix program files and registry files- if you still have access to the internet you could look around for replacement files. My moms laptop had alot of viruses so i ran an AV on here PC and it wound up destroying all her Win32 files, so i had her do a remote desktop which then allowed me to manually send her the neccassary files for her computer to still work properly. I mean, if your able to do something like that then that would be the easiest way to fix that problem but if not...then a new HDD would be in order, or just getting whichever OS CD he has running and then either repair the files or Format and re-install

Today i downloaded and installed AVG 8.0 and i have to say its brillient. After you have made a search on google it will scan the sites that have be returned to you during the search and let you know if the site is safe or not. I dont know any other AV software that does this. I would recomend people take a look at it.

That may be a handy tool, but it doesnt make up for the fact that generally AVG misses viruses where other scanners dont. Find an infected PC run avg and remove threats then run avast on the same machine and watch for all the viruses and trojans that AVG missed.

It's more than likely that you have an optical mouse. Some optical mice have a tendency to move on their own when at a slight angle.

Optical mice also HATE dirty feet and bedding. Clean the desktop and get its feet on the ground (remove the mousepad, especially if it's dirty). When they are used on dirty mousepads, they are very jumpy and have poor response. I agree with Ash, it could very well be a mouse, not a virus.
