Hi, I know this has been covered before, but I am sure it can stand to be repeated..what is the best anti-virus download out there today?

I have found that Avast does a wonderful job as an antivirus. The best part is that you can find it free at their website. The only problem that I have with it, is that sometimes it can be a little annoying with pop-ups.

I have tried both of them, really slowed down my computer...I found something in the PC Magazine called Spyware Terminator..it is an antispyware and antivirus..and free! Anybody know anything about it?

No sorry I do not, but all anti-virus software is gonna slow down your system. What is your ISP they probably offer free protection.

It's Brighthouse (road runner)...the guy who came to set it up installed AVG..was disappointed with that, just used Norton 360 free download..all my pages opened very slowly because of their fraud protection...

I use AVG and it works as well as can be expected for a free one.

AVG offers a false sense of security in the same way that Norton does, since it doesn't pick up as many viruses as other free programs.

I've never heard of Spyware Terminator really, it could even be that it is spyware in disguise. I reccomend:
Antivirus: Avast Home Edition
Antispyware: AVG Antispyware
