I downloaded Spyware Terminator w/anti-virus and it has performed fairly well so far..catching things that even Norton 360 didn't...or Avast..or AVG.

I didn't have a virus..I was trying to find out what was the best free anti-virus program available..I get PC magazine and there was an article about this Spyware Terminator w/anti-virus...and since everyone here is pretty knowledgable about computers and such..I thought I would check with all of you to see what your opinion was.

Happy to say that what I downloaded is working very well for me..I think this is a fantastic forum...I have learned alot in the few months since I logged on for the first time and I thank you for any and all input...and I tell all my friends too.

I use Spyware Terminator, the only good thing about it is the application blocker. The antivirus is just ClamWin which isn't all that good. You say it did better than Avast? let's see it do better than NOD32.

For all you AVG jocks out there, go and download a few viruses off some crackz and warez sites and see if AVG does anything.. No? then try Avast! 4.7 Professional, it's guaranteed to pick up 99.9% of viruses.

Trust me to know, I test antiviruses. AVG is free, but it's shockingly bad. People recommend it because it's free. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone AT ALL. I swear by Avast 4.7 that is is THE second best antivirus on the internet.

Try NOD32....

Well yes that is funny. Coming from a family of computer technicians, and dedicating most of my free time to finding a good antivirus, I think I know just a BIT more about anti-viruses than most people......

And, no you didn't...

Whoah Whoah Whoah chill out Admin dude. I'm just saying is all. I also have a good point to raise.

Yes, maybe you do have over 15 years of computing experience, but technology changes and moves fast, so in this day and age with new software, experience won't really get you that far. My father has been a fully licensed and certified technician for over 20 years, but I know MUCH more about antiviruses than he does, but even he (and my brother who is an up to date technician) knows just how poor AVG is.

So the point is, it doesn't matter how much experience you have with software, it's got to do with what you actually know and test.

Don't take it the wrong way either, I'm just making a point.

Hey I use AVG for my antivirus, and zone alarm for my firewall. Well on my laptop I use windows vista fiewall, but anyway do you really think AVG is bad to use? I have had no problems. It finds trojans every once in a while and also dataminer thingys. But again I don't have l33t computer hacking skillz.
