Default Infected plz help

I was infected with either a virus or spyware earlier today. I was able to use system restore to get to where I am functioning again but I do not believe all is well. I ran adaware, Norton and spybot. Spybot had some artifacts that it could not remove. Norton found two entries. I have yet to reboot for fear that the malware will reappear. I need desperate help. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi there,

Firstly, welcome to CompuForums. I hope that you can visit our forum often in the future and post - rather than just receiving our help and advice, and then never visiting again. We provide our help for free, and all we ask in return is that you participate in our forum and refer your friends, or consider a premium membership. Not helping us in some way after helping you is not welcome here, and doing so is like stealing.

As for your PC, you may have to provide more detailed information on the items that SpyBot is picking up, so we can help remove it. If Norton found 2 entries, and is telling you to reboot, then reboot. If you reboot, Malware or Spyware can not magically appear. If it is on there when you reboot, then it was on before you reboot.

Please give us the details of your Spyware so we can help remove them.

Thanks,

BP

I suggest that you try a real antivirus program, rather than Norton. I also suggest that you back up all files and programs that you may wish to keep.

Yeh as Ash Said use something else rather than norton because norton is a nasty piece of software and also...

when you run these scans are you doing them within normal windows or Safe mode if normal windows do these in safe mode as safe mode loads basic drivers to run windows without anything else such as spyware n etc.

this normally does the trick

Or

press control ALT delete and look for suspicious dealings within your startup and look in google.co.uk or .com to see how other people remove them.
