There are lots of ways to pick up spyware besides porn. Spyware is all over the internet. Besides, over 5+ years with no anti-spyware, you're bound to pick up a bunch of it.

The most severe virus problem I've had was just 51 at-risk files. I have never had more than one 1 corrupt file at any one virus scan. Even my Acer laptop, which got trashed out by a friend of mine with spyware/ adware never had any more than 50 .

If you had any virus on computer,i would be changing my anti virus software,and as for not scanning regulary,i say n more.

Nearly forgot,avg antispyware is just that,its not there to stop viruses.

During the living years when I used my family PC every month or so it would crash, my dad blamed me for going on "those sites", I was so outraged that he could point a finger without giving evidence I have never been on them sites I know what happens. Later I found on the history somebody had been on "them sites" which were porn. The suspects now are my older brother or my dad.
I couldn’t really stand up for myself then but I got my own revenge by buying my own computer which I truly love so much as I have had for over a year now and it has never crashed! Yes viruses, spy ware have been found but exterminated!
My family PC is now 7 years old and continuing its crashing run without my presence so I got a nice refurbished Windows 2000 very basic specs (couldn’t handle fs2004) for a family X-mass gift. So far it has crashed once but not due to a virus. And shockingly my dad blamed me for it to!
My dad still is the best I could imagine to have but when it comes to computer problems he gets suspiciously accusing mood, but it’s not my problem any more

I had to clean up my brother's machine. Seems he had a few thousand files that reported to be pictures of Anna K. and Britney S naked. The file copied itself into literally EVERY directory. It took time, but I did clean it up manually and had a good machine going again. But since, I've had to reload due to some nasty little bugs that found their way into the surfing habits of my little bro's.

Of course, Now I'm considering purchasing DeepFreeze just so I can save time on their machines.

As to comments made: Yes, music is full of virus' so are a lot of video's not to mention games. Many of these are free for a reason. But in my brother's case, he was looking for the tennis star's photos, and he got what he was asking for. You hunt for VD (Viral Downloads), you will likely find it.

i got effect by the same few months back but my norton was able 2 kill the virus after 2 -3 attepms
