Default Kaspersky Internet Security

Hey!
Anyone familiar with Kaspersky IS v.6.0? I've just installed a trial version on Win Vista and now I can't see some banners on my websites, though I konw they're there. The links are working, but I can't see the banners. Some web based email programs are loading very slowly too. Is anyone familiar with kaspersky to tell me what should I do?

Hi there tonisz,
Welcome back to the forum - I hope to see you here more often in the future! Remember you are expected to help others, post in our general lounge or if you can't do either purchase a premium membership, in exchange for our tech help. By doing so, you help keep the site online.

It's likely that the software is blocking ads. I'm not familiar with the software so I can't tell you how to disable this individual feature, however, this is likely to be what's causing the slower speed [it probably checks every internet request for an ad]. To be honest, the best way to keep your computer protected is using some very good free tools: I personally recommend using Avast Antivirus, Comodo Personal Firewall [unless you have a router w/ a firewall], Windows Defender, and Firefox with Google Toolbar and Adblock [which you can set to not filter ads on your sites]
