Default What is a good way to protect your computer?

What would you guys say would be good (free) AntiVi +Firewall software for your computer? I right now have Norton AntiVi and it sucks! It always turns auto-protect off -doesn't let me turn it back on and blocks outgoing access to my 360!

You're right - Norton AntiVirus does suck.

Here's my setup.
For Antivirus, I use Avast Home Edition. It's free, doesn't use half of your system resources like Norton does, and it updates itself quietly without popping up boxes [Just one little corner popup like on MSN Messenger that slides back down again - and you can turn it off]

For a firewall, all of my computers are just running the default Windows firewall. Now this would be very insecure without it, but I also have a hardware firewall built into my router. I've used various firewall testing sites and it's completley secure.

I still need a firewall, I download stuff from Azures sometimes and I disconnect my router a lot.

Default Zonealarm for firewall

If you want a firewall aside from the built-in firewall (preferable...), then I really recommend Zonealarm. Their free version is a firewall, and you can choose to allow or deny programs' access to the internet on a case-by-case basis, or always allow or deny a program access. It has may other features, and is a great firewall in my opinion.

Another firewall I recommend is Comodo Personal Firewall. It doesn't seem to take as many system resources as ZoneAlarm [maybe that's just me] and I have found that it's pretty secure too.
