I am currently using AVG free edition, but it prompt me that will discontinue middle of next month. Not sure is the version I install will discontinue or they just totally stop providing free? Anyone know is there any other free anti virus software?

I think AVG are just discontinueing version 6. You will most probs need to upgrade to Version 7 free.

In my opinion the best free antivirus for Windows is Avast - since AVG is known to not detect all viruses, particularly Trojans. You can get Avast from here:

It's available in many languages, including Malay

Never heard about Avast before. Thanks anyway, I will download now and give it a try. BTW, I am a Chinese not Malay.

I am just installed English version and registered. But why after I key in the License Key in "About Avast", it does not show anything? I can even click again and again the button?

Try restarting the program, and possibly your computer if it dosen't work.

I have to agree with Ashley , I have been using Avast for more than a year and have never had any problems at all. Also it is not a system memory hog like other anti-virus programs.

Use BitDefender Antivirus Free Edition 8. The Most Powerful Antivirus program.
