Default Will you be moving OS?

Will you upgrade to Vista? Also, is Windows 2000 Pro better than XP Pro, and why do you think is Windows 2000 more expensive than Windows XP Pro?

I think that Win2000 is more expensive, as it is outdated so it costs MS more to support it.

Also, I probaly won't get upgraded to Vista 'till I get a new PC, or when the price comes down - OS's are always expensive and full of bugs when they come out - I remember the launch of XP, and when everybody was rushing out to get it.

I agree, give Microsoft a chance to release some patches, before getting Vista. As for me....no, I don't need it, plus, it serves me no use.

Also, all I hear is that the themes engine has been updated, a few more bugs have been ironed out, and it has been dumbed down (even more than the XP Control Panel Category View!! :smt012 )

...Also, Microsoft will release a SP3, and the themes engine, Avalon, will be released for XP, too, so your PC will pretty much be the same as Longhorn anyway, but without all the money and slowing down (though my PC specs are not too bad ) :smt001

Is that so? Well, I'm still not sure Microsoft want's to do that, since the engine needs high specs to run. Some computers are runnng XP are bare specs. Might be a disaster for them :smt009

Well, and if they don't, here's where you can get your own copy of
wich ever you choose.

http://en.crystalxp.net/bricopack.php

And it won't slow your computer down.

It took me a long time to get to XP since I was pleased with 2000 .. so I think I will let the price go down and the bugs fixed for some time till I'll go for the next upgrade. As long as my computer is able to do what it needs to, then I have no worries.

well i just got my mac... OSX seems pretty good, as for my windows machines theyll be staying XP for a while they just aint got the spec for Vista... well they have but I doubt if itll run too well on a 2.7ghz Celeron with 512mb RAM and a X700Pro Graphics Card.

There it no way I will be moving to VISTA unless I buy a brand new PC. It just isn't worth it when Windows XP can preform the same job. I did the same thing with XP, I ran Windows 98 as long as I could. It took buying a new PC before I made the switch.

At some point, Yes, I will definitely move to Vista. However, I don't think that I will get Vista when it comes out. I will probably wait for a couple of months at least. My guess is that Vista version 2 or Vista service pack will come out several months after Vista release, but I don't think I will wait that longer unless I have a very serious financial problem.

I'll use Windows XP Pro until they stop supporting it. No need to switch to Vista until I upgrade my PC which won't be for a few years.
