Re: HP Pavilion 1030n wont boot
Okay, been busy, so sorry took so long to help.
I like to start by asking a BUNCH of questions.
1) If you let the computer go, do you hear the single BEEP as if it was about to load windows?
2) Have you reseated the video cables/
3) Have you reseated the video card in the computer?
4) Do you have a different video card you can test on this PC?
5) When you attempt to start the computer, do the lights on the keyboard flash?
My first thought is the video card. Are there any other symptoms that you can hear/feel/smell/taste/see??? Does the hard drive spin-up?? Have you reseated the RAM?
Have you taken the computer outside and blown it clean? (not with those wimpy cans of air, but a real compressor and at least 40 PSI (I prefer 80).

Every Piece of Electronic Equipment runs on a finite amount of smoke. The systems are normally very efficient at reclaiming the smoke and recycling it, however, should you do something to let the smoke out, your system will become useless.
