Hello. I have made a big c*ck up somewhere. Wondered if anyone can help me.
Was trying to find something on hard drive. I used to be on Wanadoo so tried to look in email on there. Obviously Wanadoo now finished so Orange came up. Tried to reinstate that. But that then changed homepage on IE to Orange. Then decided to do a search for anything "Orange" and remove it, as I had by now given up on my search. Removed everything Orange from computer. Now here I think is my big mistake, I emptied recycle bin as well.

After this, when I tried clicking on an icon on desktop, it came up with "Windows cannot open file" error message. If I go through bookmarks in Safari I can open webpages.

I then tried to Restore system, but get a message telling me it cannot be restored and to try another date. Have done that numerous times all to no avail.
Can anyone help me to get things as they were yesterday.

How can you be lost if you don't know where you are.

Your first mistake is that yiou use ie and safari lol Just do a repair install from your windows disk.

That was quick. Trouble is Windows was already installed on PC when we bought it. Don't have a single disc. I copied it onto about 4-5 CD discs.

Where did you buy it? Do you know anyone who has a windows disk as you could use theres if possible.

You have a hidden partition on your hard drive. On bootup hit the CTRL and F11 button that will take you to restore then follow instructions.
