Default Toshiba DVD-RW not working properly

Hey there.
I have a Toshiba A200 laptop and lately the CD drive has been really annoying. Now the reason i put this under the Operating System thread is because nothing is wrong with the drive physically, i mean, it works fine (when it works) and burns fine but every so often, when i eject a disk and put a new one in, under my computer it just comes up as DVD-RW and when i click on it, it says please insert disk. Now i have no idea why.... does anyone else.
Sorry if i posted in the wrong thread.

What version of WIndows are you using? I would also look for a driver update.

Vista ofcourse
But yeah, i've checked for all the driver updates and what not, everything seems to be up to date. I've had a look on google and people are having similar problems but not exactly the same as mine, as in, their drives arn't working at all. Mine works abit.

Using a program like nLite allows you to customize your installation of Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows 2003. You can integrate service packs and hotfixes and drivers from Microsoft directly into your windows distribution files without having to re-download and install them every time you need to re-install windows.

There is also the option to remove unwanted components from within windows. Many applications are automatically included every time windows is installed. Not every person needs or even wants all of these applications which Microsoft considers to be necessary. By removing these unwanted components you can free up space within your setup and ultimately save space on your hard drive after installation.

Basically you insert the drivers into the installation disk so that when you install windows the drivers/fixes/features that you chose to ad in NLite will automatically install when installing windows. You can get it Here
