We should try and do someother cool little tests like these. Like get the oldest computer we can fnd, pop Vista on it, and see how long it takes to boot from a fresh install The one who gets the longest time wins haha

Yea I am in the same situation sorta. I don't need a new computer, but my motherboard desn't work with the newer linux kernels so I am thinking about getting a new one.

I work from home, So have the time to be able to conduct these experiments. I only used 3 machines for the test and there not really top of the range machines either.
