| Hello, I've read tons of forums regarding the BSOD but haven't found any directly related to the wireless card as being the culprit. I am only getting the BSOD (blue screen of death)/bad pool header x19 when I try to restart my computer with my wireless card IN. As long as the wireless card is not attached, I can boot my laptop up just fine and work on it but if I try to stick it in, I immediately get the BSOD. This happened initially about a year ago in a hotel when I tried to log onto an "available network" and it happened again yesterday when my DSL was down and I tried to find an available network. I have had not problems except on these two occassions. Sooo, it's clearly something to do with the wireless card. I can't get online and therefore cannot look for any "patches" which is what many people have suggested trying. I did take the drivers CD that came with my laptop and reinstall those though but that didn't make a difference. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions (in layman's terms)? Should I simply go out and buy another wireless card? Oh, I have an HP/Compaq nx 9600, pentium 4, Windows XP professional, and a netopia 3D "reach" card. Thanks a bunch for any suggestions you all have. Chad |

| Ash, thank you for responding. I won't find out until tomorrow but I think it's because the wireless card was going bad. The wireless card is toast now...its almost as if while it was "going" bad, it was causing the "bad_pool_header" code 19. Now that it's completely toast, it's allowing me to boot up again. I knew it was directly related to the wireless card but wasn't sure why. I'll find out for sure once I get a new card tomorrow. Thank you. |
