My computer has 3 hard drives. C drive, of course,is used for System software, etc. The other 2 are used for video work. C Drive is getting dangerously low on memory. How can I transfer some memory from my much larger other 2 drives. I know virtually nothing about computers, so a detailed explanation would be very helpful. Thanks, Alf.

Hello alfredsvideo,
Firstly - welcome to CompuForums. We provide our computer help for free, so we would highly appreciate it if you could help us. You can do this by answering other people's questions, or if you are not so technically-minded, post in our general lounge forum. Alternatively you can purchase a premium membership to help contribute to the rising running costs of this site. If you can't help us then we can't help you. This system allows us to continue to provide free computer support.

Firstly - can you tell me if you have just one or more than one physical drive in your computer?

It's likely that you have one hard drive and multiple partitions. You can use software such as PartitionMagic to move the data around:
Download Partition Magic 8.0 Free Trial - Partition Magic is the only real harddisk manager for your system - Softpedia
It is not free software, but the free trial will do the job. Be sure to back up ALL data on the drive that you are not willing to lose, as there is a small chance of drive corruption with every major file system operation.

Hi Justin. I have 2 physical drives. C drive is for system and programmes. The other drive is partioned into D and E. I suppose the real question ought to be: Can I transfer some space from D or E onto my C drive, which is becoming dangerously low? C Drive was initially 20g. It has now fallen below 500mb. There isn't really anything I would like to delete on my C Drive to make some more room, but I do have 500g on each of D and E whch I could utilise. Is creating another Partition the only answer? Thanks, Alf.
