| Some of you probably want to try a different OS. But you don't want to make such a big change to your computer, do you? Here are some web based OS's for you. eyeOS | Web Desktop - Web OS - Web Office - your files and applications everywhere - An OS with the features you'd need, but with a few minor bugs. The Internet browser doesn't keep the page in the browser, it directs you away from the page with the OS - It's still good for stuff you don't want on your regular hard drive. Desktoptwo - Good for making/uploading files, a lot like eyeOS only there's no web browser. You can upload to your Desktoptwo hard drive for files you don't want on your regular one, you can make your own webpage, IM, live chat, and post on message boards. (There are a few apps too) http://startforce.com/OS - I'm using StartForce right now(Only to see what I'd recommend for this thread) and so far, it's pretty good. It has a working browser, media players, games, settings, and Zoho Sheet, Show, and Writer, similar to Microsoft's Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. There's a rich text editor, Writer, a "Notepad," Text Editor, and another Excel-like program called EditGrid. It's pretty much Windows for free. I'll post more - Enjoy!

| Another one I'd like to recommend is YouOS. It's a lot like Linux, with all the programs you'd have on the average computer. For Internet, use YouBrowser (No, not Bitty Browser. It doesn't work as well) You can also find contacts on YouBuddy, YouChat, and YouNiversal Chat. There's two office programs, YouEditor and YouSticky. http://youos.com

| Ive had a little play around with Startforce and I quite like what I see, my only problem is the speed, its too slow for me to use on a regular basis. But im sure as broadband speed increases then more people will use something like this. |
