 so is this actually just a pipe dream or have MS said that they are working on IE8? Im a but confused. I have to say though that i reckon if they are then it will not run well with xp if at all.      |

| Yeah, works fine on XP SP2, or probs SP3 when it comes out. Well, they are going to stop selling Windows XP soon, so they won't have to support it much longer (support for XP ends like July 2009, which means only security fixes, no hotfixes and/or app updates and bug patches). |

| 2014? i believe it wont even matter by then becuase by 2014, alot of computers will be touch screen and wont even come close to supporting XP, and also new machines that are being made right now and are being released, dont even have components that are XP compatible. Also the windows site will most likely still have motherboard updates and drivers for computers that need, want or have no choice to revert back to XP. This will still be there becuase if it didnt, then sales would ultimately drop for them. But beleive me, in the year 2014, XP support WONT even be needed. Vi$ta will spread and will take over most PCs by 2010
