| Good day, My friend sent me a 4.4 GB zipped file. I tried extracting the file using winRAR to my F drive, but I recieved the message: There is not enough space on the disk. Write error: only NTFS file system supports files larger than 4 GB I found out that my file system is FAT32 so I went to DOS to convert one of my partitions from FAT32 to NTFS by using the command: F:\> CONVERT F: /fs:ntfs After converting my F drive, I tried to extract the file again, but I recieved the same error message: There is not enough space on the disk. Write error: only NTFS file system supports files larger than 4 GB I am confused. I double checked to make sure my F drive is NTFS, and I have more then sufficient space on that partition to extract my image. Did I do something wrong? Do I need to convert all my partitions from FAT32 to NTFS? Should I not convert my file system in DOS, and instead find software to do it? Any help will be greatly appriciated. Thank you in advance. -Jon- |

| I don't know the exact solution, but following solutions may help you. 1) If your zip file has more than one file then extract only few selected files. 2) The error may be because of zip file it self. I think the zip file can store the files of size only upto 4GB. 3) Try using the new version of winZip/winRAR. |
