| No, I have no idea, you'd have to get Vista back onto my laptop for that seeing as I used to have it that way....

| Hi revolutions, Nice to see you visiting us again - I hope you'll be visiting more often in the future. By "notification bar", do you mean the taskbar with the Start button/orb at the bottom of the screen?

| yes it on the right hand side where all the little icons are near the clock |

| Ah... I'm sure that you are talking about the Sidebar. To get rid of it, just right-click it, select Properties, and uncheck the 'Start Sidebar when Windows starts' and click OK. Then right-click it and select Close... and it's gone. It'll still be running in your system tray and you could close it, but the next time you start your computer it will be gone.

| This should probably sort this: 1) Create a new text file and name it something.reg. It can be anything you like as long as it's got .reg at the end. Save it anywhere you like as well, as long as you can open it. Make sure it's got the following contents: Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoTrayItemsDisplay"=dword:00000001 3) Reboot, or log-out and log back in. Your tray icons should be gone
