Removing Office won't affect anything. The "Open with" box may appear for some documents, but OpenOffice should take care of that. And in the unlikely event that you do have any problems - we'll be here for you.

It really depends on what you sue your computer for, if you just use it for basic things like using Office, internet etc then you will likely be ok to use it but if you use complexed programmes etc your probably best wait

iam just here to add support to other comments made. you better think twice before upgrading to vista. i have got nothing much to say but if i were you i wouldnt spend any money to upgrade to vista

100 percent true, Antivirus & Firewall is the no.1 software problem for vista, video cards are pretty bad for hardware too
