Why in hell are you getting a MAC? Mac's are becoming more and more like PC's everyday and yet they still claim how mac's are so much better. Then again XP isn't that great. My Advice, if you can't even handle linux, don't try using a mac...

You don't get viruses with Linux, either.

And yes, there are viruses for Mac.

Wrong, macs is easier than linux, I have one, you never understand a mac until you have lived with one, mine has crashed once since March and I haven't turned it off since the day I got it, it just goes to sleep and everyday it continues just as stable as the last. Macs also have better apps than linux, they have branded software such as Studio MX and Photoshop. And yes macs are starting to be more like PCs, supporting Windows Apps, but they are still optimised for their amazingly good operating system and using OSX and a mac will revolutionise your computing experience completely. You don't know till you have tried.

Scripts not viruses. But they do do damage, but they are somewhat less frequent and well known than on Windows, and OSX definatly has the upperhand on keeping you safe.

macs is easier than linux? apparently grammar doesn't come as easy to some! just kidding

I do understand mac's...I have lived with one before.. I wouldn't be making such decisive statements unless I had actually used one often...I only did because I had to!

Macs being easier than linux is a matter of opinion.

Stability...Linux Servers and Home PC's can stay on for long amounts of time as well...my old linux server was up for maybe 100 days before I decided I wanted to upgrade...

So please don't say I don't know it till I've tried...because I have.

The reason Macs never had as many or more viruses/scripts than windows is due to the amount of use! Why in hell make tons of viruses for an operating system that was hardly used...although now that it is getting more and more popular, you see alot more scripts will be unveiled.

Read over your post, present some good debating points, and then I will consider arguing against it, but with that...you have absolutely no leverage.

Well for one: It's less common to get a bad script because of the way it's grogrammed. The way it's programmed makes it more secure.

But with Windows and OSX, you can't view the source so how do you know which one is the better programmed?

At least you can get the source code of Linux - meaning you know that there isn't any hidden evil stuff put in by the developers - for all you know, they could be watching your screen - without viewing the source, how can you tell?

A Mac.

I have used one

Don't get one. Save yourself. Getting a mac is just the first step to Apple taking over your life with DRM.

Don't get one.

Also, Ubuntu/Linux is easy to use, and so is a mac. It is just different, that is all.

- Josh

-edit-
Voted for XP, becuase anything is better than a mac.

-edit2-
Also, you mentioned mac was better programmed.

NEWS FLASH: Mac is BASED on UNIX, and so is LINUX!
