I seem to be having trouble getting the correct display. I am running Ubuntu on my laptop, but have an External monitor plugged into it. The only way I can get the image to display on the external monitor is by using the 1400 x 900 resolution for the laptop.

This obviously doesnt display well on the 22" monitor. The display res for the Monitor should be 1680 x 1050. Any idea's on how to get this to display correctly on the external Monitor?

hmm...a few questions of my own. Firstly are you trying to get a display from both the monitors or just the external one, also, What graphics card do you have?

I only ever use the external monitor and not the laptop screen. Its integrated graphics on an intel 943GML board
