Default Compiling a new kernel

Does anyone have or know of a good step by step guide to compiling a kernel?

Default Re: Compiling a new kernel

There are some, but i've never gotten them to work right for me. But that was more than likely user error.

Now, look into GENTOO, it works from source code to compile kernel, and each application for your hardware. It's built for speed.

Gentoo Linux -- Gentoo Linux News I have a friend who uses it and it darn near configs and compiles itself!!!!! (uses the one command line entry)
